New Water Meter Installation

The installation of a new water meter can be carried out for:  

  • Single buildings/ residences,
  • Multistory buildings and each approved unit (residence, shop, etc.) located therein,
  • Residential complexes as well as any detached residence, shop or other type of building located therein.

Water supply to a single building/ residence
True copies of the following documents must be submitted with the application:

  • Building permit including any revisions and/or any other permit issued by the Competent Authority relevant to the development
  • Building permit site plan
  • Building permit architectural drawings as approved, including:
      • Plan drawings
      • Elevations
      • Cross-sections
  • Property Title Deeds
  • Evidence of the address of the building which must be issued by the Competent Authority

Note: For cases relating to Turkish-Cypriot ownership, in addition to the above (if available) a copy of the Lease Agreement by the Turkish-Cypriot Property Management Service must be submitted.
The following items must be paid in advanced to Larnaka Water Board for the installation of the water meter:

  • Water supply fee based on the land area developed (Reg.10(2)),
  • Water supply fee based on the area coverage of the building (Reg.10(2)),
  • New water meter installation costs (Reg.5(2)),
  • Connection fees (Reg.6), (first table, paragraph 1) and
  • Bill payment guarantee (Reg.7) (first table, paragraph 2).

Water Supply to Multistory Buildings
True copies of the following documents must be submitted with the application:

  • Planning permit or Building permit 
  • Building permit site plan
  • Building permit architectural drawings as approved, including:
      • Plan drawings
      • Elevations
      • Cross-sections
  • Property Title Deeds
  • Evidence of the address of the building which must be issued by the Competent Authority

The following items must be paid in advanced to Larnaka Water Board for the installation of the check meter:

  • Water supply fee based on the land area developed (Reg.10(2)),
  • Water supply fee based on the area coverage of the building (Reg.10(3)),
  • Installation costs for the check meter and individual water meters of the multistory building (Reg.5(2)),
  • Connection fees for all meters (Reg. 6), and

and the applicant must comply with the terms for water supply to multistory buildings (Reg.14).
Prior to the installation of the individual water meters for each individual building unit (e.g., residence, shop, etc.) of the building block the following must be carried out:

  • Submission of the building permit in cases where construction/development commenced on the basis of submission of a planning permit,
  • Successful inspection of the plumbing installations of the multistory building by the Board.

Water Supply to Residential Complexes
True copies of the following documents must be submitted with the application:

  • Planning permit or Building permit 
  • Building permit site plan
  • Building permit architectural drawings as approved, including:
      • Plan drawings
      • Elevations
      • Cross-sections
  • Property Title Deeds
  • Evidence of the address of the building which must be issued by the Competent Authority

Before the installation of the check water meter, the Board must be paid in advance for the:

  • Water supply fee based on the land area developed (Reg.10(2)),
  • Water supply fee based on the area coverage of the building (Reg.10(3)),
  • Installation costs for the new check meter and individual water meters of the independent residential units of the complex (Reg.5(2)),
  • Connection fees for all of the above meters (Reg.6), and
  • Bill payment guarantee for the check meter (Reg.7).

and the applicant must comply with the terms for water supply to residential complexes (Reg.14 (2)).

Prior to the installation of the water meters for the residential units the following must be carried out:

  • Submission of the building permit in cases where construction/development commenced on the basis of submission of a planning permit,
  • Successful inspection of the residential units’ plumbing installations by the Board
